Annual Meeting- January 28th

The Annual Meeting will be Sunday, January 8th following the 10:30 am Holy Eucharist. The annual meeting will be a potluck lunch after which we will vote for new vestry members, receive reports and the annual budget. This is annual gathering is a good time for the church community to get together not only for the necessary business of the church, but also to see and catch up with friends. On this day there will only be ONE Holy Eucharist at 10:30am.

The 8:00am and 5:00pm Holy Eucharist will be cancelled.

Psalter Retreat - January 27th

A couple years back I read a book on building faith through small groups using the tradition of St Benedict, the title of the book is The Restoration Project. One suggestion that stood out to me was to have a "Psalter Retreat."  I had not heard of this before, but this spiritual practice has its roots in the Little Gidding religious community of 17thcentury England. It was their practice to gather and at one sitting read the entire Book of Psalms.

In the spirit of this tradition I invite you to join me in this spiritual exercise. The reading may take up to 5 hours, with a light lunch at midway. You are invited to attend for some, most or all. Sitting in a circle we will pray the Psalms, much like we do on Sundays, with a variety of responsorial styles.
